Walking Home for Christmas

Small 2018 0073 whfc social assets 1200x630 05

Sorry for a lack of posts at the moment but we have been practicing our walking skills!
Me and my daughter Jenny are taking part in Walking Home For Christmas.
We are walking home from Canterbury to Hamstreet on 20 December 2018 a distance of 23.5 miles.
So that we can finish before midnight (hopefully).

By taking part in the #WalkingHomeForChristmas campaign, I'm giving hope to veterans and their families who are struggling this Christmas by supporting programmes run by Walking With The Wounded and Help for Heroes which tackle key issues such as mental health and unemployment.
This a cause that is very close to my heart having been a civilian in the REME and having family and friends who have needed help since leaving the services.
Any donation is a good donation, so head to:
and send any spare change my way!

If everyone could afford just 10p it would make a big difference to someone’s life.

How your money helps:

Each step you walk and every penny you raise will directly support Walking With The Wounded and Help for Heroes recovery programmes helping 'at risk' veterans get back into society and lead independent lives.

Together with your support, we can help give them and their families the Christmas they deserve. Without you this wouldn't be possible.

  • £150 could pay for a one-day employment course to help veterans find purpose through employment, hobbies or volunteering.
  • £300 could pay for mentoring support for a veteran starting up their own, sustainable business.
  • £675 is the average cost for a veteran to receive 12 mental health therapy sessions starting within a fortnight of seeking help.
Thanks in advance for your sponsorship or why not take up the challenge yourselves and sign up
