Birthday Giraffe

This card uses a great image from Bugaboo
I have coloured him using my chameleon pens.
Then simply mounted him on to a piece of scrap card
I had left over from some Christmas bits I made
I then used another piece of scrap to emboss with my cuttlebug embossing folder
It was then cut with my spellbinders ovals
I cut another oval out of the scrap card to put behind it
I am quite pleased with this card its one of those images that just make be smile!

New and Recycled Card

It was my birthday earlier this month and one of the cards has this cut out sentiment
I used on of my new embossing/die folders to cut the aperture and emboss the foliage
I then used some new blending tools (first time at this technique) to colour the embossed bits
The recycled bit from my birthday card was simply place behind the aperture
and then a green bit of card used to mat it all.

Watching the Clock Until New Year

This was not the easiest card to take a photo off!
I have used an embossing folder which has a die which cuts out the centre
I brought this yesterday in the sale in Hobby Craft it was done to £3
I used a great Bugaboo image of Gus which I thought went well with the folder
He was coloured using my Chameleon Pens
Quite a simple card

Thanks a hole punch!

I was having a look around on Pinterest and saw a card with idea and sentiment
on Stampinantics Blog, which I just needed to case.
On her version she used a sponged background which was stunning
However I had lots of little bits of glitter card that I had kept
I just cut the holes out using my spellbinder dies on my Cut N Boss
Then trimmed the bits of glitter card and glued them behind the holes
I then used my fine liner pen to faux stitching around the circles

Nephews Birthday Christmas Eve

In our family we celebrate quite a few birthdays in December
As I have been so busy I forgot to take pictures of all of them!
This one I have made for my nephew who will be celebrating his
Birthday and Christmas in Ireland with his dad this year.
Hopefully this card will arrive there safe and sound.
He is quite a party animal and this image from Crafts U Print made me think of him
He says when he hits 30 he will calm down!!
I used the pre-coloured image and added the sentiment which I did in word
These were then matted onto a few scraps of green and red that I had left over from my Christmas Card and Vouchers in the previous posts
The background is a piece of foiled card that was simply stuck down
Quick and easy but hopefully effective.

Vouchers for Christmas

I get asked by a lot of my family to make them vouchers for different people
I found these lovely SVG cutting files on Printerable Cutterable site
Rather than use them for a card I just printed the voucher people wanted and stuck it inside
I cut these all out on Scan and Cut and the went together brilliantly
Hopefully they will be well received on Christmas day.

At last a post and some cards!

Firstly a BIG thank you for everyone that sponsored my daughter and me in our
We walked 23.5 miles home from work on Thursday and did it in 8hrs 21min
So far we have raised £930 for the Walking with the Wounded and Help for Heroes
there is still time to donate if you wanted HERE

As I have now given out all my Christmas cards I thought I would share with you the ones I made this year, about 65 in total.

For my bulk cards I like to go with a simple design that I can make quite quickly.

This year I decided to use some lovely pre-coloured images from Bugaboo

I printed them all out and then cut them into squares, whilst they were printing I also cut some red glitter card in some slightly larger squares.

I used my printer to put the pre-scored square cards through to print the verse inside and the sentiment on the outside

Then it was simply a  case of sticking them all together, writing them and giving them out.

I was abit late making them this year my plan is to be more organised for Christmas 2019!

Walking Home for Christmas

Small 2018 0073 whfc social assets 1200x630 05

Sorry for a lack of posts at the moment but we have been practicing our walking skills!
Me and my daughter Jenny are taking part in Walking Home For Christmas.
We are walking home from Canterbury to Hamstreet on 20 December 2018 a distance of 23.5 miles.
So that we can finish before midnight (hopefully).

By taking part in the #WalkingHomeForChristmas campaign, I'm giving hope to veterans and their families who are struggling this Christmas by supporting programmes run by Walking With The Wounded and Help for Heroes which tackle key issues such as mental health and unemployment.
This a cause that is very close to my heart having been a civilian in the REME and having family and friends who have needed help since leaving the services.
Any donation is a good donation, so head to:
and send any spare change my way!

If everyone could afford just 10p it would make a big difference to someone’s life.

How your money helps:

Each step you walk and every penny you raise will directly support Walking With The Wounded and Help for Heroes recovery programmes helping 'at risk' veterans get back into society and lead independent lives.

Together with your support, we can help give them and their families the Christmas they deserve. Without you this wouldn't be possible.

  • £150 could pay for a one-day employment course to help veterans find purpose through employment, hobbies or volunteering.
  • £300 could pay for mentoring support for a veteran starting up their own, sustainable business.
  • £675 is the average cost for a veteran to receive 12 mental health therapy sessions starting within a fortnight of seeking help.
Thanks in advance for your sponsorship or why not take up the challenge yourselves and sign up

The background black and silver I made using scraps
After using an idea from Stars and Stamps Blog
Basically you cut your off cuts into 1cm strips
Then stick onto another piece of scrap

Christening Card

I was asked by a friend to make a christening card
She wanted a cross but also nice and girly
I had brought a selection of SVG cutting files from Etsy
I cut the cross on my scan and cut out of a soft pink card
I kept some of the hearts to stick around the edges
To create my own background
The cross was matted onto a piece of white card
and then again onto another piece of the pink
The sentiment was done  in word
and printed directly onto the card base

70th Birthday 2 for 1

This card is another tumble number one
This is for a gentlemen who has been like a dad
since my own dad passed away 10 years ago
If you could not guess he has just turned 70
I designed this on my Scan and cut
Also as it's such a big and special birthday its an A4 size card
I used two sheets of A4 one black and one blue
and cut the design on both colours
I then used a small scrap of red to cut the 70
I then place the blue bits inside the black card
I think this technique is called paper piercing
matted it onto a piece of red card and added the red 70
Finally adding it to the A3 card I had folded in half
As I don't like waste so I then put the black numbers
On to the blue card so got 2 for 1
I now have another card ready to use
I just have to wait for someone else to turn 70!!
