What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Hello everyone on WOYWW sorry I have not played for a long time but time is something I do seem to much spare at the moment, but things should improve after this weekend as my sister gets married as I would have finished all the bits she needs lol.

On my desk week is the last of the wedding makes. Starting from the top left to right this is a little pink vase Mum and me will be putting flowers in these to go on the centre of the tables with name tags and sprinkles all place on a small round mirror ( the table only seat 4 ) Next to that is my confetti boxes ready to throw. The a  wishing well box, this is a post box I have made for people to place their cards is so they do not get lost at the reception.  Then there is a small decorated heart to give to her once she is married and also her wedding card.  These sit ontop of a wedding keepsake box I have made her and put an example of her invites and order of services etc. On the desk is the sitting plan, a basket with bunting (which I still need to decorate) and the ribbons I have started to make to decorate my Dads old Morris Minor which will take my sister to the church.

After Saturday I am hoping to be able to show some more details of all the bits I have made and also to be able to get back to some normal crafting lol

Hope you all have a good week - I dont promise to visit everyone on the blog but I will try to get round as many as I can.

Promarker Storage Update

As some of you know I tend to be a little bit of an OCD crafter - I like everything to have a place and when I have finished using it that is where it goes.

Now when I first started collecting Promarkers I used a travel CD case to transport them and it has worked really well you can see the original HERE. I then also started to collect some flexi markers and the promarkers brought out some limited edition promarkers so I decided I needed them!

This meant my storage box was no longer large enough so I started to look at ways to improve it

I brought a slightly larger box from E-Bay then set to improving the insides I realised if I made some boxes for the pens I could store more in a row, than using the CD sleeves. So using an A4 piece of paper I scored out a box with two dividers so the pens do not fall over (I did warn you I was OCD)

This is the A4 piece of card with the score lines dotted and the solid lines are the cut lines.
This way there is very little waste - just the small strip at the top

This way I can store over 200 pens in this case.

I also number my pens so I can put them back in the box where they belong.

Hopefully now my pens or more organised and
I have had a tidy up of my craft bits I will get some more crafting done.
I contacted Letraset to ask they where going to update the colour chart with the new limited edition pens - they said no so I did my own and new inserts to go in the box. If anyone would like a copy of the pen chart so you can colour in your own collection please email me and I will send  it to you.

I have been crafting but doing lots of bits for my sisters wedding at the end of September so you will have to wait to see the photo until after the wedding.

In the meantime I will finish making the boxes for the pens

Wedding Charm Pin

I wanted to give my sister a little pressie before her wedding day, so I decided to make her a Wedding Charm Pin.  I made the match box style box on my ecraft and finished it with the same ribbon I used for her wedding invites

Where I cut the heart aperture out I put a piece of pink card behind, inside the box I lined it with pink tissue paper

The card inside has the verse of something old, something new, something borrow, something blue and a sixpence for your shoe.  I did it in word and then cut it out and used my fiskars corner scissors to round the corners

I have given this to her a week early as I did not want to upset her on her wedding day.  The reason being our dad died four years ago and I know at this time she would like him with her.  Our dad was a scuba diver and whenever he came up the ducks would gather around him - he was not a bird lover so ducks always remind us of him.

The card for her says:

Something Old - an old duck for dad
Something New - a silver horseshoe for luck
Something Borrow - Ribbon of an invitation
Something Blue - Blue crystal heart
Sixpence for your shoe - 1966 sixpence my gift to you

I used basic jewellery making bits to attach the charms to the pin, using jump rings to get them hanging just right. The safety pin is a special one and the head unscrews so you can slide on the beads and the jump rings, the sixpence is a 1966 one as that is the year my sister was born. When I gave it her she was very pleased and is going to wear it on her wedding day.

Wedding Card

This card has been made for my sister who gets married on Saturday, I have used a decoupage sheet and papers from The Range called Fizzy Moon.  I made the tag and used my brother labeller for the sentiment. I finished the tag with some of the ribbon I used on the invites I made for them for the big day. I rounded all the corners using my corner fiskars scissors.

Birthday Voucher

My friend asked me to make a voucher for her husbands birthday to let him know that his family are sending him to Australia next year, to give him chance to plan where he wants to go.  I using a cutting file I had designed for my sisters wedding invites to cut the sleeve using my ecraft.  Before cutting I added the flags, word and boomerangs to the sheet.  The inside was done in word using images from google. He was very shocked when his family gave it to him and is now planning for the trip next year

Lay Readers Card

My sister asked me to make a card for her friend who is to become a licensed lay reader next Saturday.
I found the images on google after lots of searching as I wanted a picture of the robes he will wear. I decided on a very clean and simple card, just picking up the colour of the lay readers scarf as the mat and layers. Inside is a verse and that is also mounted onto a piece of the blue card.

Wedding Card

This card has been made for some very good friends who got married yesterday.  I have used an image from Google of the the route master bus in wedding finery, then matted and layered onto a piece of chocolate coloured card and then again onto a piece of shimmer light brown card.  The sentiment was done in word and printed onto cream card, finished with 3 pearls. All the card and paper used was from the papermill direct shop.

A Special Card for a Special Occasion

.

One of my friends gets married on Saturday and asked me to make him a card to give to his bride to be
I wanted the card to have clean simple lines, so chose a cream hammered card from papermill, then I printed in the sentiment on using word.  Finally I used my letterpress in my big shot to print on the swirls
Inside is a poem but that is only for his brides eyes.
I used chocolate pearlized ink and inside I lined the card with chocolate paper then mounted the poem on that with the edges cut with my corner scissors for interest.

This card was for the less is more challenge, but unfortunately  my dyslexia stuck again and I did not follow the challenge correctly as I was suppose to use foliage on the card as well as it being a one layer card

Computers!!!

.

I have been missing from my blog for a little while as I have been busy with my sister wedding which happens at the end of this month.  I have been doing all her wedding stationary and table decorations etc.  Once she has had her big day I will show you some of the bits and pieces.
I have also been updating my Promarker storage once I have taken some photos I will share.

This card is for my friends birthday, this image is from Bugaboo and I have used the Stella says Sketch for inspiration from the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog, as normal coloured using my Promarkers papers are all from my stash apart form the striped one that came free with a magazine

The sentiment for the card says

This computer is broken....        ...I keep pressing the escape key but I am still here!!!

This card is for the following challenge :
