Getting Organised!

Those who have followed this blog will now that I am an very tidy crafter
I like everything to be easy to get to and neat
My Spellbinders and other thin dies have been driving my nuts as they were all just still in their orginal packing in a box - neatly but it was not working well
So I have made a new book to hold my dies
I used mount board that I had left over from some framing I did
I cut it down to size and then I used some of my 12 x 12 stash of paper to cover it
I have had this paper about 18months and have not used it
I then stamped my Little Suzy stamp that I have had since I started card making
I love this little duck as he seems to be jumping for joy
He is coloured using promarkers
I then cut him out using my Spellbinder Nestabilitie label die
I inked the edge to destress it a bit
I then dry embossed some black card
using my sizzix with a new embossing folder from Prov Craft
It came with the black card that when sanded has purple showing through
This is a first for me as I have never sanded my work before
I then used the left over bit to make the label to cover the words
I then thought I would get out my heat gun and embossing powders
as its been ages since I have used them
Again I did a first for me I used clear embossing power and embossed it three times
To give both label a glossy finish and I hope this will project them a little
I used my bind-it-all and some left over wire to bind the book
My crop-a-dile was used to putch the holes for the ribbon to go through
so I could tie the book shut
Ribbon again is from stash
Inside the card I used some magnetic kids sheets of the world that I brought from Tescos
I cut it into two inch strips and attached it to the centre of the page
The dies then sit nicely on this and are held securly
Then as I am a little OCD I have labelled each set of dies
by doing them in word and the cutting them out.
It has taken me quite a few hours this evening
thats why I am blogging it at this time in the morning lol
(2.45am British Time)
I am really pleased with how this turned out
I am entering it into the following challenges:
My Time To Craft - Up in the Air ( the ducks jumping)

Cute Card Thursday - Out With the Old ( Lots of old stash used)

x Nicky x

Awesome piece of work and such a fantastic idea, now I'm not a tidy crafter but my dies have been doing my head in and this is the perfect answer, thank you so much for the inspiration, have made a similar book for my small clear stamp sets and love it so looks like I shall be getting busy real soon with one of these. xx

What a brilliant idea, and the book looks really beautiful. I do believe I have some magnetic sheet somewhere, so may just give this a try. Thanks for the clear description.
