Whats on Your Workdesk Wednesday Anniversary Week

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
Whats on Your Work desk Wednesday
The brilliant nose around the world
If you do not know what I am on about visit Julia's Blog

This week I am playing in the early hours of the Wednesday morning.
I am off this week so thought I would post this before going to bed
(still have to get up early to take DD to work)
and as it is now nearly 1.30am I really should tear myself away from my crafts
and catch to zzzzzzz's
A couple of people asked on my previous post how I did the candles
The idea came from create and craft tv
Using tissue paper stamp onto it and then heat it onto the candle with a heatgun
the thiner the tissue paper the better
I have used it with white and pink and it dissappears into the candle nicely
I stamped Little Suzy stamp and coloured it using my peel off markers
Then just held it on a candle and heated it simple
Has to be as I managed it!
I found the small candles like this one heat really quickly
but still work out ok
I think maybe if my heat gun had more than one setting
it would be a bit better
This is my Pif all wrapped and ready to go
Its the first time I have done one of these and
while trying to come up with ideas nearly gave up!

Hope you all have a great WOYWW

Thank you Julia for hosting it
I  enjoy my weekly nose through the blogs
Picking up ideas, items for my wish list
and friends along the way

x Nicky x

I didn't know you can do that on a cangle! :) Amazing! Happy WOYWW!

Hi Nicky, Thanks for visiting. Yes, that's exactly what I did, unchecked the "keep me signed in" box. Don't know why, just thought I would try anything. It's been two weeks that it's been playing up. Happy WOYWW!

Bleubeard and Elizabeth said...

I unchecked the keep me signed in box and it didn't do a thing. I try it every day when I sign in, too. I can only post to blogs that pop up, not ones that have the comment box on the same post. Very frustrating and now I'm told some people can no longer get me on their google reader account.

Nicky,

I'm getting ready to go to bed and wanted to get your package all ready and in the mailbox. Unfortunately, I don't know where you sent the e-mail, but it didn't come to me. It's listed on my profile page if you want to get it that way.

Those candles make great little gifts and so simple too. I wrap a piece of greaseproof paper over the stamped tissue and find I get a better result that way:)

the candle is so cute! I tried the candles and actually made a few really cute ones. On a big candle I put the image at the top then heated around the bottom and rolled it in sand and tied a ribbon between the image and the sand. Turned out really cute. A friend of mine used oatmeal and rice and they held well. Happy WOYWW #104 Thanks for sharing. Vickie

Love your candle. Glad my post made you smile - what a dipsy woman I am at times - and this morning was certainly no exception. Not only did I post the pictures of my PIF and forget my asterisk but I have just been reminded I need WOYWW on it somewhere. Maybe I should stay in bed! #15

Happy WOYWW :)
I find myself up at all hours, knowing I should go to bed but not quite ready to tear myself away from which ever project I am working on.

Love the candles, great idea :)

Re: Hollys Jones' comment - Its funny, I can't tear my self away from my bed to get crafting, lol. I've tried that candle technique, (its fun) although not on one that small, does the paper burn?

The small wee hours were designed for crafters and artists, the quiet and peace is so conducive to thought and creativity,

but the lack of sleep is not so good, hope you get an afternoon nap,

I have tried unchecking that box too, with no result. Often, I lose pictures, even my own, and have to swap browsers to see them. That candle is lovely. I saw it done on Create and Craft and liked the look of it then. Thank you for your visit and your kind comments. Happy anniversary.

Hi Nicky, got to get some tissue paper and try this. Did you see the tea light candles that had the stamped images (flowers) on the top - they looked great for gifts. Got to say I had similar misgivings when I was making my PIF so you were not alone. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #81

I think a lot of us nearly gave up on the PiF thing, because we are intimidated by all these awesomely talented artists out there ( At least I am), but I decided that it wasn't about the art but about the heart, so I made mine and am hoping like crazy the recipient is not disappointed.
