Anything but a card

Image
My sister asked me to do her a voucher for her step son and his family I have done all sorted but decided this time on something they could keep as well. I ordered some fairy lights attached to cork from ebay and my sister saved me one of her gin bottles. This one had orange bands in the glass so I used orange vinyl to match I used a SVG of the animals in a row and then used the Walt Font for the text. This was all done in the Brother Canvas software. This was then sent to my Scan and Cut and cut out. I have then weeded all the bits I did not want to transfer to the bottle out. Then using transfer paper I transferred the vinyl to the bottle. The cork lights I brought were to small for this bottle and fell straight in!! So I used the original cork cut off the bit that went in the bottle and glued the cork lights to it. Problem solved lol Finally I did the words of the voucher onto a tag and tied it around the bottle neck with orange ribbon. This is f...

It's a digi image from Redonkadoodles . I coloured the image with my Chameleon pens  The oval was cut on my Scan n cut as was the black oval behind. All the papers are bits from my snippets box. Old Lady Again!

Image
I did warn you I liked this stamp! It's a digi stamp from Stamp on it  I have coloured her with my Chameleon pens and used my scan and cut to cut it out. She's then mounted onto a piece of snippet card. The stars and pink cards are also from my snippet box. The sentiment has been printed black onto yellow. This is because my friend who this card is for is registered blind, But she can read text if it bold and has a yellow background. The sentiment inside was also done on yellow paper. This is one of the best things about making cards. Although I do wind her up by showing it to Ike her guide dog and telling him to read it, people do give us funny looks lol The verse I used was the same as the earlier card which can be seen here This card is for the following challenges  Crafting by Design ~ Anything goes Through the Craft room Door ~ Anything goes   Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge ~ Anything goes Simon Says ~ Anything  goes T...

First Attempt at Quilting!

Image
To go with the card I made in the previous post I wanted to make a gift for the baby. I knew that the nursery was having a Dumbo theme. I found some fat quarter's in Hobbycraft that were Dumbo and in pinks perfect. I have never made a quilt before but had brought some fabric dies to use in my Big Shot Plus, I cut out a number of squares from each piece of material and the worked out a pattern I liked.  Before I did any sewing I found some help from  Pinterest and You Tube! I sewed the squares into 12x12 blocks, then joined the blocks into rows and fixed the rows together. Amazing what you can learn online. I then watched some more tutorials and added the wadding and backing to the panel. Then I stitched each square to give the quilting effect. Now come the how part finishing the quilt of with some binding. I cut 2.S" strips of the backing material and joined them together. I then folded it in half, ironed it and attached it to the quilt. Again thi...

Have a Wild Time

Image
This card was made using a clear stamp I brought from Ally Pally yesterday.  It's the first I have been as don't do well in crowds but it was fun. I stamped him using some distress inks. Then I used my waterbrush to bleed out the colour a little. The glasses came in the same set, I stamped this in black. Then again used a blue distress ink with the water brush to colour them. I then used my Spellbinder dies in my Todo to cut the oval. I cut the ears of the giraffe so I could shape them over the edge. Finally I finished with the sentiment.  This card is for the following challenges: Simon Says Monday Challenge ~ Don't be fooled be foiled Through the Craftroom Door ~ Anything goes Simon Says Stamp ~ Animal Antics Crafting by Design ~ Anything goes Pennys Paper Crafty Challenge ~ Anything goes Thanks for looking

Signs of Spring

Image
This card uses a lovely image from Bugaboo . It is coloured using my Chameleon pens and then matted onto a piece of green card. I then used a scrap bit for the background.  I think this is the last piece from a pack I brought from QVC ages ago.  I had a couple of bits of the glittered floral paper left so used them at the edges. I finished it again with a sentiment from a old scrap booking kit I had brought. This card is for the following challenges: Simon Say Challenge - Anything Goes Cute Card Thursday - Greens Allsorts Challenge - Your Favourite Season  ( I love all the season but always look forward to the next one lol) Catch the Bug Challenge - Anything Goes Thanks for looking

Little Birdie

Image
This card uses on image from Bugaboo  which justs makes me smile because he looks grumpy. I have coloured him with my Chameleon pens. Then mounted him onto a scrap piece of black card. The heart and dot paper is one piece which is doublesided so I just cut it and turned it round. The Happy Birthday strip was a bit again from my snippets box. The three strips mounted onto another piece of black card also came from the snippets box. I then matted the tag onto a bit of black and finished with a few gems. This card is for the following challenges: Catch the Bug ~ photo inspiration Tuesday Throwdown ~ Falling Hearts Through The Craftroom Door ~ Anything Goes Simon Says ~ Anything goes Thanks for looking

Birthday Candles

Image
For this card I used a scrap of white card and then die cut it. Before removing the tonic candle die I used my glitter pen to highlight the flame. The Happy Birthday is also a tonic verso die. I then stuck it onto a piece of the ombre card l brought yesterday. This is a very simple card but I am pleased with how it turned out. This card is for the following challenges: Simon Says ~ No stamps allowed Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge ~ Anything goes Thanks for looking
