When I Grow Old I Will Wear Purple!

This is an A4 sheet designed so my mum can frame it
(If she likes it?)
For mums 60th I did a card with the a quote about 'When she grows old she can wear purple'
She asked me to do one that she can frame with the poem by Jenny Joseph.
I used one of the Murray and Ethel Stamps coloured with glitter satura and Tria pens
The dotty paper is some Christmas paper from a lilac and purple pack
The circles were made in word as was the text, printed onto penalized card and then cut out.
I have put faux stitching on the circles and around the poem.
The blue ribbon at the bottom has stitching on it and the ribbon at the top has swirls.
I got all the ideas from the Challenge sites below
As usual any project as long as there is stitching on your card faux or real - it's up to you!
Was a sketch with lots of circles I have added a bit but hope it still counts
The colour combination is Lilac and Blue
For this weeks extra option it is to used ribbons and swirls, but this is not compulsory
Please so check out the above blogs there are amazing creations on them

Great News and Lots of Challenges

After working really card and just a little stress on the way my Big Sister has passed her last accountancy exam so is now fully qualified

CONGRATULATIONS SIS

I thought this called for a card and as I have had so little time at home I have combined four challenges!

Dotties Challenge

Twice as Nice

Dotties world would like you to use two or more charmed downloads on your creations. You can mix, match, duplicate an image, resize, whatever you fancy but they need to see two or more images

Colour Create Challenge

Colours Navy, Lime and Turquoise

The added element this week is to create the project without using designed paper.

Cute Card Thursday

Want a card designed for a member of your family

On this card the navy card at the back has a slight sparkle in it, as does the turquise squares.

On the lime green piece I used my small dots embossing folder in the cuttlebug. I had tried doodling this but it looked like a kids has scribbled on it so i went with the embossing.

The small squares we done using another embossing folder in the cuttlebug

The images are Dottie Gradulates and these were pre-coloured images and the text was done in word

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 52 - Recipe

RECIPE
Take something ripped;
2 papers and
4 embellishments
BUT there's a twist - four embellishments means ONLY four.
A two-layered flower with a charm/spacer and a brad for example would count as
ALL of your embellishments so choose them wisely!
For this I used so paper that came in a pack from QVC
I ripped the piece on the left hand side and fixed it on top of the other piece
The stamped image is 'Squeak' from the Daisy and Dandelion collection.
Coloured with Tria markers
The text was done in word
The heart has been in my stash for ages and its finished with 3 gems
Hope you like it.

Dotties World Sunday Challenge - 15th March

Sunday Challenge - Sketch
Good morning boys and girls, Karen here (are there any boys out there? Let yourself be known).
The Sunday challenge today is set by me, and I have created a sketch for you to follow. I am going to offer a little prize to one lucky participant this week, I will pick the winner randomly next Sunday.
The scalloped edge merely depict some sort of fancy edge. It doesn't have to be scallops but you MUST provide a fancy edge of some description, this is not an element that can be changed. You must of course include one of our downloads too.
For my card I used my craft robo to cut the aperture out of the blue card stock, then again the craft robo was used to cut the frame and the circles and heart.
I then stuck a piece of acetate over the aperture and put the frame over to hide the glue
I used the Front and Back image of Dottie that has been pre-coloured
I cannot remember where the papers came from and the text was done in word
The top edge being scalloped was by mistake as I forgot to take the blade out of my paper trimmer - but I quite like it! lol

Sketch Saturday Challenge 42

For this card the paper came for a paper pack from QVC
The stamped image is Candyfloss and was coloured using my water colour pencils
The sunflower was from my stash
The paper flowers from the same QVC paper pack and I inked the petals to make them stand out
The text was done on my labeler machine

Thanks for this sketch love it

The tag and circle where cut on my craft robo out of paper from a quick cutz pad
Just realised I have forgotton the ribbon for the tag, never mind too late now the cards gone

Colour Create 5 and Saturday Sketchers 40

Is Blue and Brown

For this week's extra option we would like you to use lace and pearls,

but please remember that this is not compulsory

Ok, onto this weeks sketch and here's a sketch for those of you who love lots of layers / different papers, we might get more scrapbookers taking part this week too, maybe by substituting the sentiment for some journalling perhaps ;)

This card was done by using a dark brown as my base card.

Then a light blue for two of the strips. These I put through my cuttlebug to emboss

The Triangle pieces were done from blue sparkly paper.

The strip of brown and the brown behind the text came free with a magazine

The text and stamps are from the Murrey and Ethel stamps set.

I coloured the lady using my tria markers

(and even managed some shading, I am learning)

and then finished the card with the blue gems.

Thanks for looking

Please check out the challenge sites as there are some amazing cards there.

Friday Sketchers and Dotties Challenge

This is the Sketch you have to follow on the Friday Sketchers Challenge
It's Kristine from Norway who is hosting the challenge 41 this week

On Dotties World it Juliets time to set the challenge :
I don't know about you, but when my mojo has beggared off I often find inspiration from browsing photographs, so I decided to use this photograph of yummy looking cupcakes for the challenge this week.
You can take whatever you like from the photograph: you could focus on the colours, use a cupcake on your work or make a cupcake shaped card - it's up to you. You must include one of the Charmed downloads on your project and please tell us how the photo inspired you in your make by leaving a comment and linking to your blog.

The inspiration for this card came from the strips and the colours on the cupcakes.
My friend had asked me to make a card for her Granddaughter and I was really struggling to come up with an idea until I saw the Dotties Challenges (thank you)
and thought it would work perfectly with the Friday Sketch
The images is from Dotties Dressed Up collection
The paper used are pink, brown and white paper from the paper mill, the striped paper was in my stash and I am not sure where I got it from.
Dotties is coloured using my Tria markers with highlights done in Satura Gelly Glaze
The mats are raised slightly of the card by using silicon glue
I put three gems in opposite corners just to add a bit of bling
Thanks for looking
